starting a micro isv November 22, 2007

In case you're wondering what ISV means, it's an independent software vendor.

Let's get this straight, I have a lot of fun programming and designing. I have no idea why. Some people call it geeky and I agree 100% with them. So, why not make a bit of money on the side?

Of course, I'll still be writing code and contributing it back to the open source community. Open source is awesome, a lot of businesses wouldn't be where they are without it. But a lot of end-user applications are carefully crafted by their developers, and those developers should be rewarded.

I work on a Mac and Macs are famous for having tons of shareware programs. There's a vibrant community of developers creating software for regular consumers ($1-$50 range). So, I wonder if the world has already begun it's shareware community for web applications.
